Airport becomes smoke-free zone

5 March 2007

East Midlands airport has become a smokefree zone ahead of the forthcoming legislation to ban smoking in public places.

From Monday, the smoking areas within the terminal building, both before and after passport and security control, have been closed.

Smoking will still be allowed outside the terminal, in designated areas.
