Rail firm to ban smoking anywhere at its stations

14 March 2007

Southeastern Trains has announced plans to ban smoking anywhere in its stations, to coincide with the implementation of smokefree legislation in enclosed public places on 1 July 2007.

A spokesperson for the company said it was in response to passenger feedback, which was overwhelmingly in favour of stopping smoking completely at their stations, including the full length of the platforms.
